Danly & Navarone's awesome Chopped Hodakas

These two choppers were built and thought up (over lots of barley pops) last spring by Chris Danly and Navarone Katzer.

Chris: "I had several old Hodaka basket cases laying around and decided to make a fun parade bike. The chrome tank one is a 1967 ace 90 with an old Suzuki front-end and a rear wheel off of a rm 50. The bars are made from an old galvanized water pipe,as are the hard tail rear supports and foot rests. Total $ into the 90 are about $140.00 and tons of hours."

"The very cool red chopper was started in April and finished about 10 minutes before the parade in Athena. I started the basic chopping of the frame and did the mechanical end of the bike and Navarone dreamed up the styling. The tank is a ty80 Yamaha, rear wheel is a MR 50, rear fender unknown, the seat is a fat butt bicycle. The bike started life as a 1970 ace 100 and retained the orig front forks however the front wheel is off of a ace 90. I think we spent around four hundred $ on this bike. Navarone did all the paint work and donated the use of his tools and shop on the weekends for both bikes." (Red Line Finishing Collision and Glass Repair Chewelah ,Wa ).

"The current project is another ace 90 and will blow both of the previous bikes away. I hope to see you all in Athena next year.

p.s next year we will have proper exhaust systems on all bikes'
